Good Morning CHS Community,
This email is coming in response to several emails and phone calls the CHS administration received today regarding a potential threat to school. The rumor was that our Holiday Assembly has been threatened. This threat has been investigated by Assist. Principal Stroh and Deputy Durham and was found to be unsubstantiated. There is no current threat to the school.
We encourage students and parents to promptly contact a school administrator or a teacher should they hear of any rumored threats. Please avoid using social media to continue sending information regarding any rumors as it continues to perpetuate the situation. If there comes a time that a credible threat were to be identified the CHS Administration, with the cooperation of the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, would communicate in detail. It is important that this is the primary line of communication to ensure the accuracy of information.
Given the heightened sense of awareness that this situation has created the Kane County Sheriff’s Office will have an increased presence at CHS this afternoon.
As always, CHS administration takes the safety of students and staff as the highest priority.
